Day 1

Sunday 13 September 2020

With a rigorous northern wind, we decided to take a clockwise direction around the island. At around 17.00 everything is ready and we can at last launch our kayaks.
The first waves and gusts quickly let us come to grips with the new, to us, boats. After passing the first cap, a Sulphur odour quickly becomes evident. Just one hour’s paddling gets us to a charming small cove with a stone arch.
We set up camp after taking a late evening swim in 25 degrees (celcius) waters. A short but excellent way to start this expedition!!!
